Palmerstown Meals on Wheels has been operating in Palmerstown for over 30 years.   It has been operating out of the Day Care Centre of Palmerstown Parish Centre on Lower Kennelsfort Road since the early nineties.

Palmerstown Meals on Wheels provides over 100 hot dinners for the elderly of the community every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

All aspects of meal preparation, including budgeting, shopping, cooking and serving are carried out by volunteers under the guidance of the HSE.  Similarly, volunteer drivers deliver meals to homes and provide lifts to and from the Centre for those requiring transport.

Clients who can avail of the dinners are those who are unable to prepare their own meals, those living alone or recently out of hospital or people who have been recommended by a Social Worker.

Under the current Covid-19 environment, we are only in a position to deliver meals but it is hoped that in the very near future, we will be in a position to welcome our clients back into the Parish Centre.
