Eucharistic Ministers

In 1973 Pope Paul VI introduced Special Ministers of the Eucharist to assist with the distribution of Holy Communion.  In our parish we are privileged to have a group of Eucharistic Ministers commissioned for the purpose of distributing Communion at Mass and bringing the Eucharist to the sick and housebound. Some of the Eucharistic Ministers provide an outreach to the Hermitage Clinic by distributing Holy Communion there one day every week.

The Eucharistic Ministers operate on a rota basis within the parish and the Hermitage Clinic.

If you are sick and/or housebound and would like such a visit from a Eucharistic Minister or a priest, please contact the Parish Office on Tel: (01) 6260900 from 9.15am – 11.45am Monday to Friday or email: parishoffice@palmerstownparish.com.  Alternatively, you can contact the sacristy at (01) 6266241  between 9.00am and 11.00am.

Coeliac Condition

If you have a wheat intolerance and wish to receive from the chalice, please go forward to receive from the chalice at the same time as the Eucharistic ministers. If you need to discuss these arrangements, please go to the sacristy at least ten minutes before Mass begins.
